Die Website hat keinen Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit noch wird mit der Auflistung eine wissenschaftliche Würdigung oder Gewichtung des Inhaltes vorgenommen. Sie widerspiegelt die persönliche Einschätzung der Mitglieder der Taskforce.

An outbreak of severe Kawasaki-like disease at the Italian epicentre of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic: an observational cohort study

Description of 10 cases of Pediatric Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome ("Kawasaki-like disease) in the Bergamo Province resembling the cases reported in UK on May 8. Patients were older, shock and cardiac involvement more common and laboratory findings differed from classic Kawasaki disease.

Das neue Pediatric Inflammatory Multisystem Syndrome (PIMS-TS) grenzt sich ab vom klassischen Kawasaki Sydrom und ist zeitlich und örtlich mit hoher COVID-19 Inzidenz assoziiert. Patienten sind mehrheitlich SARS-CoV-2 PCR negativ, aber Antikörper positiv. Risikofaktoren und Pathogenese sind weiterhin unklar.

Incidentally discovered COVID-19 pneumonia: the role of diagnostic imaging

This letter reports the incidental detection of COVID-19 pneumonia in several asymptomatic patients who underwent imaging for non-COVID-19 related reasons and reminds radiology departments to continue checking all chest CTs for COVID-19 pneumonia even after the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

CT scans of the neck or abdomen revealed characteristic findings of COVID-19 pneumonia on partially included lung segments in 63% (76/199) of COVID-19 patients with non-respiratory symptoms patients.

Characteristics and Outcomes of Children With Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Infection Admitted to US and Canadian Pediatric Intensive Care Units

This US report on 48 pediatric ICU admissions finds that 80% of patients had co-morbidities, medically complex neurodevelopmental/genetic diseases with long-term dependence of technological support being most common (40%).

Diese Studie weist daraufhin, dass vorgängig schwerst kranke Kinder mit verschiedenen Grundkrankheiten schwere Verläufe zeigen. Das neue inflammatorische Syndrom (v.a. bei Kindern ohne Risikofaktoren) ist hier noch nicht abgegrenzt.

All Hands on Deck ‐ Creation of an Online Internal Medicine Redeployment Curriculum

A major concern of trainees in redeployement to practice medicine on the frontline of the Covid-19 pandemic are potential knowledge gaps. This article from Medical Educations Adaptation series reports on the creation and first experiences with the medicine basecamp, a 10 week online curriculum on Internal Medicine from McMaster University, designed specifically for the unique needs of redeployed trainees during this pandemic.

Quantifying SARS-CoV-2 transmission suggests epidemic control with digital contact tracing

Given the infectiousness of SARSCoV-2 and the high proportion of transmissions from presymptomatic individuals, controlling the epidemic by manual contact tracing is infeasible.

Age-adjusted associations between comorbidity and outcomes of COVID-19: a review of the evidence

Given the discussion of earlier articles that people with underlying comorbidities may have been overrepresented in symptomatic hospitalized cases and the fact that prevalence of comorbidity increases with age, this review looks for the empirical evidence on the association between comorbidities and severe or critical care outcomes of COVID-19, after accounting for age.

In diesem Review zeigen viele weltweit hoch prävalente und klinisch relevante Erkrankungen, wie Diabetes mellitus, arterielle Hypertonie, COPD, Tumorerkrankungen und Adipositas, unabhängig vom Alter ein erhöhtes Risiko für ein schlechteres Outcome bei Covid-19. Caveats gegenüber diesem Review wären in erster Linie, dass es sich aktuell um einen Preprint Artikel handelt und sich auf (tw. ebenso Preprint-)Studien ausschliesslich chinesischer Population bezieht. Erste Daten aus Europa bilden allerdings Ähnliches ab.

Repeated seroprevalence of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies in a population-based sample from Geneva, Switzerland

Authors report results from 3 rounds of serosurveys (testing for tested for anti-SARS-CoV-2-IgG antibodies) in Geneva among previous participants of the Bus Santé study and their household members older than 5 years between April 6 and April 27. Prevalence increased from 3.1% to 9.6% (95% CI 6.1%-13.1%) with similar values in 5-19 year and 20-49 old persons.

Ganz klar ist, dass eine grosse Mehrheit der Bevölkerung immer noch empfänglich für die SARS-CoV-2 Infektion ist, auch in Genf, einer der am stärksten betroffenen Regionen der Schweiz. Dank der seit vielen Jahren laufenden Bus Santé Studie konnte in Genf rasch und über mehrere Wochen eine äusserst solide und einigermassen repräsentative Querschnitts-Studie durchgeführt werden. Die Analyse berücksichtigt auch, dass im Moment die Serologie Testung noch nicht perfekt ist.

Observational Study of Hydroxychloroquine in Hospitalized Patients with Covid-19

Largest observational study assessing the clinical benefit of hydroxychloroquine among hospitalized COVID patients to date. In analyses with inverse probability weighting of 1446 patients in New York City, there was no difference in mortality or intubation between patients with or without hydroxychloroquine.
